Get in TouchMr. Sedat Dizmen is an experienced economist, researcher, and economic policy advisor with over 20 years of experience providing econometrics, macroeconomic analysis, research, policy implementation, advice on national development strategies, and forecasting of regional economies at private and public sectors.
His experience spans a wide range of areas including, econometrics and time series analysis, macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, policy research, energy, real estate and data analytics, feasibility studies, scenario planning, and supply/ demand analysis.
He was Research Lead at a Big Four consulting firm and in-house VP of Research at two private corporations. He was appointed Consultant and Policy Advisor to various companies and international organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).
He became a policy advisor working on national development programs. He was Econometrics and Statistics Specialist at the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Planning and Development (GSSCPD) in Kuwait between 2016-2019. He provided expert advice to the Secretary General of the GSSCPD under The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on specific areas pertaining to particular national policies, economic diversification, and policy reforms as a pillar of national development strategies.
He led economic analysis that contributed to economic policy assignments that align with the economic levers within the framework of the UNDP’s path towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. This work was conducted as he participated in the design and implementation of technical assistance and advisory services projects. He led the operations of key economic projects and the interpretation of economic research findings. He also worked as a member of a team focused on accelerating and strengthening the implementation of policies and strategies towards achieving Kuwait National Development Program (KNDP) under the UNDP.
He earned an MA and a BSc degree in Econometrics from Istanbul University. He completed training in macroeconomic modelling and forecasting at the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford.
